Report on the SCHÜTZ in-house exhibition 2025 published

The 2025 in-house exhibition of Schütz Messtechnik has once again generated a great response from the trade media in the gas industry. The trade journal DVGW energie | wasser-praxis already reported in detail on the event in its November 2025 issue. A two-page article has now also appeared in the December print edition of gwf Gas + Energie, one of the industry's leading trade magazines.

Particularly pleasing: gwf had already published an article in October online publication in October, which can be read here:

Report on vehicle-based gas leak detection, report in ewp October 2025

The new EU Methane Regulation requires network operators to establish comprehensive programs for detecting and repairing methane leaks in order to prevent climate-damaging emissions.
Various measurement methods are available to meet the reporting requirements associated with the new regulation and at the same time cope with the increased monitoring effort. This technical article describes a detection solution based on resonant laser technology and explains how it can be used in practice.

Report on vehicle-based emission measurement, report in gwf October 2025

The technical article describes the implementation of the EU Methane Regulation using vehicle-based emission measurements based on resonant laser technology. Using the LDEM 2000 as an example, it shows how network operators can efficiently, quantitatively, and compliantly record, prioritize, and report methane and ethane emissions. Especially with shortened test cycles and limited personnel resources.

How can the new requirements of the EU Methane Regulation be implemented technically and organizationally in network operations? The article shows in a practical way how vehicle-based emission measurements with laser-based resonance technology enable a comprehensive, efficient, and robust LDAR strategy.

Report on the new vehicle-based measurement technology, LDEM 2000 Idora, report in gwf April 2025

The EU Methane Regulation 2024/1787 requires network operators to carry out regular emission measurements and repair leaks in a timely manner, which is hardly feasible with traditional inspections due to shortened inspection cycles and staff shortages. The extremely innovative LDEM 2000 Idora vehicle-based measurement system from Schütz, developed in collaboration with Fraunhofer IPM, enables compliant, efficient network monitoring through highly sensitive laser-based detection of methane and ethane in the ambient air without driving directly over the pipeline.

How can the stricter requirements of the EU Methane Regulation be met despite limited personnel resources? The article shows how the LDEM 2000 vehicle-based measurement system contributes to this.

Report on serviceability testing with the LMG-05, report in gwf May 2024

The LMG-05 from Schütz is a universal measuring device for load, leak, and serviceability testing on gas pipes in accordance with DVGW-TRGI 2018 (G 600). With just one device, load testing, preliminary testing, main testing, and regular serviceability testing can be carried out reliably. With an extended pressure range of 10 bar, the LMG-05 enables structured, GDPR-compliant documentation of up to 1,000 customers and 1,000 measurements. Interfaces between the software and common programs are included.

Perform all TRGI tests on gas pipes with just one measuring device? The LMG-05 combines load, leak, and serviceability testing, including leak quantity measurement and documentation, in a compact, tried-and-tested system.

Report on the patented cap lifter, SKH 2000, report in gwf May 2023

The SKH 2000 cap lifter is an ergonomic, patented tool for quickly and safely opening road caps and hydrant covers in gas and water networks. Thanks to a special mechanism with 40 kg of spring force, even tightly stuck, dirty, or icy covers can be opened with minimal effort, protecting your back and eliminating the need to kneel. Its robust stainless steel construction and 5-year warranty make it particularly durable and practical.

Stuck manhole covers cost time and energy and put strain on employees. The SKH 2000 cover lifter uses stored spring energy instead of muscle power and enables fast, ergonomic, and safe opening, even under difficult operating conditions.

The current print article on the patented SKH 2000 cap lifter can be read and downloaded here.
